Julie Rutberg is Genetic Counsellor and Research Coordinator at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.


Rutberg obtained her BSc in Psychology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in 1991 and her MSc in Genetic Counselling at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver in 1993. She became Genetic Counsellor for the Pediatric and Adult Genetics Clinics at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore in 1993 and later Genetic Counsellor and Coordinator for the Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia Project also at Johns Hopkins. In 2002, she took the position of Research Coordinator in the Thrombosis Assessment and Treatment Unit at the Ottawa Health Research Institute. Rutberg joined the Ottawa Heart Institute in 2005. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Genetic Counselors.
