ATRIAL FIBRILLATION AT THE CENTRE OF THE ANNUAL OTTAWA HEART RESEARCH CONFERENCE

A racing heart, weaknesses, fatigue, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, and other worrying symptoms. Atrial fibrillation (AF) affects more than 1% of the population (that’s roughly 350 000 Canadians!), and 20% of all strokes are caused by this condition.

Misunderstood, and often misdiagnosed, atrial fibrillation will be the focus of this year’s Ottawa Heart Research Conferences (OHRC), in collaboration with the International Toronto-Ottawa Heart Summit (TOHS). Experts from across Canada, the US and Europe will meet and discuss the primary prevention of AF, and how to bring innovation, evidence, and experience to the frontline of patient care.
