Canadian Doctor Honoured in America for Substantial Professional Contributions, Leadership

The American Heart Association’s Council on Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesia (CVSA) presented its Distinguished Achievement Award to Canadian Doctor and Head of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Dr. Marc Ruel.

The award was presented Saturday during the CVSA Council Meeting and Awards Dinner, part of the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions this year in Philadelphia, PA.

The award is bestowed every three years to an individual who has made major contributions to the affairs of the CVSA Council over a continuing period, and who has made substantial professional contributions to the field represented by the council.
