Join us to learn more about valvular heart disease and updates with the management of heart failure patients.
The symposium will feature speakers from the UOHI multidisciplinary team.
Learning objectives
- Describe the etiology, pathology, and natural history of valvular heart disease.
- Recognize the clinical symptoms and signs of valvular heart disease.
- Describe the management and identify the indications of surgical intervention for particular valvular heart diseases.
- Describe the role of the heart team and the valve clinic in the diagnosis and treatment of structural heart disease.
- Recognize the role of imaging in diagnosis for patients with heart failure.
- Describe the appropriate management strategies and apply evidence-based guidelines for patients with heart failure.
- Discuss the differences between heart failure with preserved ejection fractions and reduced ejection fraction.
- Select appropriate treatments and consults for heart failure patients with co-morbidities or at end-stage.

Geared towards primary care providers and open to all interested professionals.

- In-person attendance (limited spots) is highly encouraged. Please identify upon registration whether you are attending in-person. The symposium is happening in the UOHI Auditorium (2nd floor) and includes breakfast and lunch for all in-person participants.
