The Lipid Clinic helps patients manage cholesterol, triglycerides and other cardiac risk factors. You may be referred to the Lipid Clinic by your family doctor, cardiologist or other physician.
What to Expect
Our goals are to assess your current and future risk of a cardiovascular event, arrange cardiac tests if needed, and provide effective intervention. We focus on:
- Blood cholesterol and blood lipid fractions
- Diabetes and pre-diabetes
- Blood pressure
- Diet and lifestyle
Patient Instructions
Once you are referred to the Lipid Clinic, expect to receive, by mail, a questionnaire plus a requisition form for blood tests. Please complete the questionnaire and bring it with you to your clinic appointment.
The blood tests need to be done two weeks before your appointment date. This ensures that the test results will be available when you attend the clinic.
Contact the clinic staff if you have any questions.
