We are excited to announce that our Co-Chairs for the conference will be Dr. Peter Liu and Dr. Duncan Stewart.
The conference Chairs are both translational scientists with pre-clinical laboratory research programs, as well as are practising cardiologists leading clinical trials, as well as engaged in knowledge translation activities. They are well known in Canada and internationally for their pioneering research and will have influence to attract stellar speakers and researchers in this thematic area.
Dr. Peter Liu is the Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President of Research at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI), and Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Liu is a leading clinician-scientist with expertise in heart failure and biomarkers.
Dr. Duncan Stewart is the CEO of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. A pioneering clinician-scientist, Dr. Stewart is recognized for his many important discoveries in blood vessel biology and regenerative medicine, as well as his dedication to translating these discoveries into benefits for patients and society.
