Overview

An educational class for patients and their loved one(s) who have experienced a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD). This class will help patients understand what SCAD is and what they can do while waiting for their cardiac rehabilitation program and/or next doctor appointment. We will also review general post discharge education. 

Upon completion of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Identify what to do if they have new or worsening symptoms after discharge.
  • Understand what physical activities are safe to do after discharge from hospital.
  • Understand the importance of medications and follow-up appointments with their cardiologist and/or family doctor after discharge.
  • Understand the importance of Cardiac Rehabilitation.
  • Learn about resources for patients living with SCAD.­­­
