CardioPrevent® is a heart health program that helps people with risk factors lower their chances of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). The program accepts individuals who are at moderate to high risk for CVD. Participation requires a referral by a physician or nurse practitioner, and results are shared with the referring physician to support the coordination of care.
The Prevention & Wellness Centre offers tailored educational presentations that raise awareness and share strategies for preventing and managing cardiovascular disease. Each presentation is customized for your company, charity, or group, providing valuable insights on cardiovascular disease risk factors.
Frequently Asked Questions
A combination of genetic and lifestyle factors causes cardiovascular disease. Certain genetic attributes play a large part in our risk for cardiovascular disease and a series of lifestyle factors known as health behaviors and health factors. Cardiovascular health involves modifiable health behaviors (mental health, weight management, not smoking, physical activity, and healthy eating) and health factors (cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar).
