Dr. Mohammed Rashid is a cardiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Background
Dr. Rashid graduated summa cum laude from the Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences Program at the University of Ottawa, where he also earned his medical degree. He completed a residency in internal medicine at McMaster University followed by a cardiology residency and a fellowship in adult echocardiography at Queen’s University.
Dr. Rashid has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to both medical education and patient care. He was honoured with the Dr. Sanjay Sharma Resident Clinical Award and the Michael and Betty Dicketts Scholarship in Medicine for his exceptional dedication to patient care. Additionally, he received multiple teaching nominations, including the PARO Resident Teaching Award, Fellows Teaching Award, and the PARO Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award.
Research and clinical interests
Dr. Rashid’s academic interest includes medical education both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His clinical interests include valvular heart disease and echocardiography.
