Dr. Pietro Di Santo is an interventional and critical care cardiologist in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Background
Dr. Di Santo completed his medical degree at the University of Ottawa in 2014. Following his training in internal medicine, he then completed both adult cardiology residency and an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Simultaneously, he participated in the clinician investigator program where he started his graduate studies. He subsequently pursued a fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Ottawa and is now in the final stages of his Doctor of Philosophy degree in epidemiology at the School of Epidemiology and Public Health in Ottawa.
Research and clinical interests
Dr. Di Santo's clinical and research interests include percutaneous coronary interventions, including high risk and complex coronary disease. His interests in the cardiac intensive care unit include out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, and arrhythmia management in the intensive care unit.
