Aydin, Alper

Dr. Alper Aydin is a Cardiologist in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Background

Dr. Alper Aydin graduated from Istanbul University’s Faculty of Medicine in 2000. He received his degree in cardiology from the Dr. Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Center in 2004.

After completing his residency training, Dr. Aydin completed a fellowship in the Pacemaker and Electrophysiology Division of the Cardiology Department at the same institution where he gained extensive experience implanting pacemakers, cardioverter defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization devices, as well as performing catheter ablations to correct a wide spectrum of arrhythmias. Dr. Aydin was appointed Associate Professor in 2015.

He worked as a Clinical Fellow in the Advanced Clinical Cardiology Fellowship Program at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute between June of 2016 and June of 2018. 

Research and clinical interests

Dr. Aydin’s main fields of interest are cardiac rhythm disorders and implantable cardiac device therapies.
