Alqarawi, Wael

Dr. Wael Alqarawi is a physician in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and an assistant professor and clinical investigator in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa.

Background

Dr. Alqarawi received his medical degree from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2009. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Toronto in 2014, then moved to Ottawa where he completed his cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships. He obtained extra training in inherited arrhythmia syndromes at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Research and clinical interests

Dr. Alqarawi practices cardiology and electrophysiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. His research interests include sudden cardiac death, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, device therapies, and ablations.
